AAU sets the age group by the athlete's age on December 31 of the competition year. The registration form works it out for you.
| Division | Age on Dec 31 | Typical focus |
|---|---|---|
| 8 & Under | 8 or younger | Fun, form and all-around movement |
| 9–10 | 9 to 10 | Fundamentals across every event group |
| 11–12 | 11 to 12 | Event exploration and first hurdle races |
| 13–14 | 13 to 14 | Event specialization begins |
| 15–16 | 15 to 16 | Advanced training blocks |
| 17–18 | 17 to 18 | Peak performance and recruiting exposure |
Every athlete needs a current AAU membership to compete. You can add it at registration or after.
Blaze Track Club started in Murfreesboro with a simple idea: kids in Rutherford County deserve a club that takes their development seriously and still makes the sport fun.
We coach the whole athlete. That means sound technique and smart training, and it also means showing up on time, encouraging teammates and finishing what you start.
